Do you need to learn ASP before ASP.NET?

I read in this month's .NET magazine that developers with ASP.NET and C# skills are in high demand at the moment.

I'm very much interested in learning ASP.NET. Do I need to go through ASP first, or can I just jump right in. Or is it recommended that I do ASP first?

Do you need to learn ASP before ASP.NET?
It's true you don't need to learn "Classic" ASP first, I'm a .NET programmer and all my experience with ASP has been ASP.net

But I will tell you, I got turned down on several job interviews because a lot of places want you to know "Classic" ASP because they have old code that they still maintain.
Reply:You don't have to..

But it is recommended. Because you'll find some aspects in .NET which is similiar with ASP.

But if you can master .NET without study ASP, why not?
Reply:No need to do ASP.

U start directly from DOT NET 2.0

Many people ask : Is it necessary to do C before learning C++?

If u have already done C++, then u know the answer.

Actually ASP.NET has many more features than ASP , so all will be covered in DOT NET
